I feel like it's time for another episode of........ ~The Sticky Fingers Challenge~ Competitor: Underpass Menu Item: "Hotter than a motherf*cker" chicken wings (yes, that's how it's printed on the menu) Highlights: pervasive, searing, instantaneous heat; blue cheese and celery Verdict: 3.5 out of 4 screaming skulls Bottom Line: GOOD GOD. What maniac would coat chicken wings in this diabolical sauce fashioned from the mysterious 'ghost pepper'? Probably a maniac like me. Good flavor at the inset, and intense, unforgiving heat every moment thereafter. Simply eating them is a physical struggle. It's very difficult not to ask for a glass of milk or cup of lime wedges while eating. Those not accustomed to spicy food should use EXTREME CAUTION. Those used to spicy food should still exercise EXTREME CAUTION. Y'all have been warned. Amber is super sweet and attentive, taking great care of us 'regulars' (sidenote: I'm officially a "regular" someplace, wooooo!) Did I mention they feature $2 pints every day of the week? So cool.

I've beem here several times, but last night was the first time we actually ordered food. We ordered a steak quesadilla holy sh!t was that thing amazeballs. I can't even describe it, but it was pure awesomeness in our mouths. We also ordered miches. They were so delicious we were takin em down. It wasn't overly packed nor was it overly loud. I was slightly confused tho how they went from rap to country lol not that I'm complaining I equally love both genres. They're getting 4 stars tho because they overcharged us. We were too tired to argue about the discrepancy, but if they hadn't had 3 different people serve our table the confusion probably wouldn't have happened.

What is there to not like?The crowd is mostly local but meh the food is what matters!!!!! I came all the way from the midway area, you're talking about from one airport to another.lmao... First and foremost you have to try the cheese fries...let me tell you I did not know what heaven felt like until i tried the "best damn cheese fries" /and that's actually what they're called ok. Armando the chef let me tell you he's legendary here he has a passion for what he does, he's in the front helping I mean the guy is like an octopus, eight hands helping out in any way he can...as for the cheese fries they're sooooooooo good Armando brought us a second plate.

This place was a great find. My girlfriend and I were working out in Melrose Park pretty late. We got hungry and I was really craving a chicken salad, so we googled a few places nearby and found this one! We just so happen to go on the day they had monster salad on special. Our waitress was friendly and great! The salads were so filling and the drinks were very tasty. I would definitely be going again when I'm in be area.

Il keep it short and simple. Burger was fantastic. The nachos sucked . The service was slow but the bartender waitress was a hard worker and doing it all. Not a whole lot to do in there but play virtual golf.

What a GREAT place to throw a party! My granddaughter had her graduation party at the Underpass this weekend and the party rocked - thanks to the wonderful staff!!!Attention to detail was super - from the flowers, balloons and food! Bartenders were sooo nice!!! I highly recommend the Underpass for parties or just to go have some good drink and food!

Before i start this rant i just have to say i have never EVER left a bad yelp review for a restaurant, regardless of how bad the experience was but this place deserves to be called out. FLAT OUT HORRIBLE!! I've lived by this place for almost two years now but never went in. My wife and I decided to try it and I can't believe I didn't stay away from it for another 2 years!! We decided to order their 'ultimate nachos.' I'm guessing they never looked in a dictionary because the word they were looking for was 'TERRIBLE nachos'... Chips and cheese were soupy and the ground meat was just bad. Everything else was on the side which is pointless because if I wanted something on the side I would have asked for it that way. Secondly and most importantly, The Wait!! I have no problem waiting for my food, at all. Especially when its full and business is booming. HOWEVER THIS PLACE WAS EMPTY AT THE TIME!!!!! there was maybe ten ppl total in the place at the time we sat down. so when i sit down order my food wait around and then see two couples come in after me and order burger and fries and get it before I receive my wings i get a little upset. I ordered my food at approximately 625pm and at approximately 718 I still get told 'it's on the way' that's where I draw the line. I won't write a review about how the wings tasted because I didn't stick around to eat them. I told them it was ridiculous and just closed out on my 'Horrible Nachos' and few drinks. I've never been so disappointed in an establishment and I have to let the yelp world know. Please don't waste your time or money on this place. I wish I didn't have to leave a star rating at all because even 1 is too much for them.

Great bar. I love trivia nights, and the food is phenomenal. I recommend getting the nacho cheese on the waffle fries instead of the melted cheese, as is what is standard on their "Best Damn Cheese Fries". The nacho cheese is the best. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is good.

$.50 Wings, how can you beat that? Friendly staff, plenty of food & drink specials.if you haven't been here, I recommend it, if you haven't been here in awhile then it's time you hightailed it back. Don't bother getting your wings anywhere else in town, these are the best. Dine in or take out, might as well get an order of pizza bread while you're at it.

They did a great job in every possible area. The food The service The atmosphere The attention to detail The people all at a FAIR price. A great local drinking establishment. The food here is good, and there are always drink deals going on. They serve food basically from open to close, so you can always get a bite to eat. Lots of parking, outdoor seating, DJ's often and a good on-line style jukebox that has tons of hits. Occasionally there are live bands here too. Tip well and your drinks will be stiff and tasty!

A cool late night bar. The bar looked good. The bartender was attentive and I imagine this place is pretty hopping on weekends. Can't find a better bar in the area. Worth to go if you like alcohol and live in the area. It's attached to an unrelated italin eatery too.two businesses way better than that bad Chinese buffet that use to be at this location

I''d give it 3.5 stars.. but will be nice and up it to 4. It's a fun spot if you go on a night when there are a lot of people... but it's really hit or miss. One saturday will be packed.. the next will be dead. It's a lot of cliques that have known each other for years from Leyden that come.. which can be a good and bad thing.. depending on if you want to meet new people or not. Decent drink prices.. and the chicken quesadilla is to die for... but It may have been because I was really drunk.. I wouldn't go on a weeknight unless they have something going on.. a girlfriend and I stopped in for a drink and it took the bartender over 10 minutes to ask us what we wanted because she was too busy chit chatting with the only other patron in the bar. We ended up leaving.

Unless there's a get together or a party that I need to attend, other than that, I don't see myself going out of my way to get to this joint. One negative; there was a funky odor that lingered. This place has really good food and drink specials, which I am a fan of. Pretty much everything from the menu is always pretty good for bar type food. Some of the best wings and tacos (green sauce) I've ever had! Place is fun and the staff/people are friendly.

I've only been here twice I think. The first time two people I knew were throwing a birthday party so I knew a lot of people and it was a blast for a while until an all out brawl busted out. Once I saw the bouncer bleeding and bar stools flying I broke out and everyone went to Sneakers. Sure glad I didn't buy the wristband that night! The music was good, everyone was dancing and just overall a good time until the fight. I went a week or two ago, again two people were throwing a birthday party. It was pretty slow in their for a Saturday. A lot less people, no one was dancing, just a different vibe all around. A lot less fun.

Quite the hot-spot for local alumni to grab a drink. Usually bombarded with the same crowd of people every weekend. Very average for any local bar. Fairly small, though a lot of tables to accommodate (should there be) large groups. No real wins on drink prices. Haven't tried any food, and I haven't heard anything about their food, so I imagine that would be quite average and preferrably avoidable by most. Not much to say, not much going on here; just another local bar with average staff and average components throughout.
